A recurring roundup of what I'm currently obsessed with in the vein of OG celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, who'd famously declare herself "bananas" for something she loved on her old reality show. Consider this my version of that RZoe energy.
Rituals - The Ritual of Sakura Foaming Shower Gel
I used to be a shower gel person. Then I became a soap person. But after being gifted this foaming shower gel, I’m back to being a shower gel person. The scent is divine. The texture is very fun. And Rituals is a B-corp. All things to love about this, except locating this product. So far I’ve only found it on FragranceNet.com (the manufacturer’s site is based in EU so, tariffs). I bought four bottles, ha!
Cuffed Jeans: Are they happening?
I noticed cuffed jeans in Devil Wears Prada 2 when the movie came out in March. Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy wore them in a couple of scenes with black heeled boots. Meh, I thought. (I was much more interested in the outfits worn by Miranda’s new assistant, Amari.) Fast forward a few months, I noticed the Fashion Director of J.Crew (far left) wearing them in a styling video for the shrunken roll-neck sweater, looking quite chic in them. Then finally today, I saw Mother offering a pair in a perfect shade of denim. Does three make it a pattern, a trend or just a coincidence?
It’s still too hot to think about wearing jeans in LA but I think cuffed jeans are happening. And I’m excited about them. Now I just need the perfect heeled boot….
Netflix BEEF Season 2
Wow, I’m three years behind streaming but, boy, am I glad I watched this! It was a bit of a slow go in the beginning but it really paid off. It’s dark for sure, but the ending is poetic. And there are some good zingers. For instance, Ashley is screaming at Josh and at the end of her rant, in exasperation, calls him a “Boomer.” Josh and Lindsay’s dog is named Burberry. Austin is dripping sweat on Josh and says “it just my high basal metabolic rate.” You will also never look at orange juice and Shirley Temples the same way again.
