Bananas à la RZoe

A recurring roundup of what I'm currently obsessed with in the vein of OG celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, who'd famously declare herself "bananas" for something she loved on her old reality show. Consider this my version of that RZoe energy.

Toteme embossed flat thong sandal

Found this one secondhand on Poshmark, and it's become the sandal I reach for when I'm wearing a bold pant. A quiet, textured neutral shoe does a lot of work toning down a statement bottom — it's the same logic as pairing a bold top with something neutral underneath. Let one piece do the talking.

Kitschy fruit hair claw

Specifically the strawberry one, which my daughter has already claimed for herself. This is the whole philosophy in miniature: a small, playful accessory adds more personality than an entire extra outfit change would, for zero extra time in the morning. Plus it just makes me smile.

“Crash Landing on You”, rewatched

Not fashion advice exactly, but I've been rewatching it (fourth time, eeks) and noticing I actually prefer the fictionalized North Korean village ladies’ wardrobe to the modern South Korean one — more layers, more texture, brighter color story.

Frank Ocean ft Jay Z, Tyler the Creator, "Biking"

No fashion tie-in required for this one. It’s a song I recently discovered listening to Apple Music’s Huntrix DJ takeover (my favorite feature of Apple Music). It’s my favorite song to listen to when I’m driving by myself. It makes me want to roll down the window and put my hand out and feel the breeze. Love this one.
